HSBC Trinkaus, are committed to best practice environmental ratings and are continuing to invest in sustainability initiatives at 400 George Street.
400 George Street achieved a 5 Star Green Star- Office As Built v2 Certified Rating by the Green Building Council of Australia and the building is targeting an equivalent As-Built environmental rating. In order to achieve this, waste, energy and water-saving initiatives are underway.
- Waste initiatives include recycling of over 80 percent of recyclable waste.
- Energy saving initiatives includes energy efficient lighting, BMS and movement sensors.
- Water saving initiatives including low water usage cooling towers and waterless urinals
The building owners are targeting a minimum 4.5 NABERS Energy rating (out of possible 5) in mid 2011. A NABERS Energy rating is based on 12 month operational performance with the building 75 percent or more occupied. Since April 2010, 400 George Street has been more than 75 percent occupied, enabling us to commence energy reporting for a NABERS rating.
